Plan It Right!

The road to weight loss will not be the same for everyone. Depending on the goal, physical make-up, health issues, and eating habits/preferences, it varies from person to person. But there are some common ‘Don’ts’ that everyone who is planning for weight loss should keep in mind while planning their diet or exercise regimen. Make sure you do not commit the following common mistakes!

Don’t Be Unrealistic

Some people who are quite over-weight may aim to lose large amount of Kgs right from the beginning. This may work against them. Weight loss is a step-by-step procedure and it is not recommended to go for high percentage of weight loss in a short amount of time. After a few months, you may lose the motivation to lose the weight and drop out of the program.
Hence set realistic goals. Aim for 10% of weight loss in the initial phase. Once you succeed in that, you can set progressive goals as you go.

Don’t Skip Meals

This is one of the most common mistakes people commit when they are planning for weight loss. Skipping meals or even breakfasts doesn’t help your cause. You should know that when you are aiming for weight loss, you are ideally planning to get rid of the excess fat from the body. But if you skip meals, you may be losing the essential muscular mass which makes you weak.

Don’t Eat Without a Plan

It’s important to eat and at the same time it’s important to choose the right foods to eat. The ideal diet is foods with high protein and fibre content. Ketogenic diet can also help you in achieving your weight loss goal when taken in certain limited amounts. While you shouldn’t over eat, you should also ensure that your body gets the minimum calories required to work out. Or else you may be losing the essential muscle mass.

Don’t Skip Exercising

Just because you have an ideal diet plan in place doesn’t mean that you can skip exercise or physical activity. For your weight loss to be ideal, you need both diet and a physical training regimen in place. Even if you are following a strict diet that will give you limited calories, you need exercise to burn off the fat or else you would be accumulating it back again. Exercise helps you in boosting your metabolism which is a great factor in giving the shape and tone for your body.

Don’t Consider Supplements/Pills

Just a simple logic. If taking weight loss supplements or pills would produce genuine results, the world wouldn’t need any nutritionist or gym to help you lose weight. Let alone helping you with the weight loss as promised, these pills may affect your health and cause unnecessary complications.

Don’t Believe Every Gimmick You Hear

You would come across many shortcuts or gimmicks online that promises weight loss in a short time. Never believe them. As mentioned before, the road to weight loss is unique for every person. If you are a bit confused on how to plan the diet for shedding your fat or what’s the best exercise regimen, consult an expert nutritionist and a trainer. It is always recommended to have a knowledgeable mind guiding and motivating you towards your goals.
